Useful Combat Tips

Know Your Elements

Fire, Water, Earth, and Air follow a rock-paper-scissors style relationship: each element is weak against one and strong against another. The colors behind the warriors indicate their elemental affinities. Use this to choose fighters that counter specific enemies before the fight even begins.

Timing Makes a Difference

Even a basic sword attack can deal more damage if you tap the screen to stop the moving diamond as close as possible to the red line on the blade. While stats matter, your actions during combat matter too.

Special abilities also reward good timing, and the game challenges you in different ways. Common activation patterns include:

• Tapping three times on three different lines (like an enhanced version of a normal attack).
• Stopping a shrinking circle right when it matches the marked moment on screen.
• Tapping as quickly as possible to fill a meter.

After you activate an ability, you typically get only a second or two before the game expects your next input—so remember what comes next and stay ready.
