Hex: Becoming a Succubus is a story-focused casual game in which you take on the role of a succubus. You’ll possess a young girl and set out on a legendary magical journey. Along the way, you’ll study a variety of spells, recover your magic power through close interactions with different characters, explore the world, and earn gold and reputation to strengthen your standing in the city.
The game also follows a sensual, intimate narrative. Hex: Becoming a Succubus is still in active development—updates keep arriving with new characters, story events, and intimate scenes. The team is also polishing text errors and improving visuals to keep the experience high quality.
How Gameplay Works
Spells and Combat Basics
In combat, spells are your primary method of attack. Each spell uses a certain amount of MP, and in general, stronger spells require more MP. Many spells can apply aura effects to either the caster or the target.

Some spells let you transform one aura type into another, while others boost damage or enhance additional effects depending on the aura situation.
- Most spells are more than simple damage. Rarely does a spell just hit for damage without additional mechanics.
- Check spell details first. Tap the “?” button next to a spell’s name to view its description before casting.
- Damage types: spells can deal any type of damage except grudge.
Magic Schools, Spell Slots, and Mastery
Every spell belongs to a magic school. To use spells in battle, you must equip those schools in the gear menu. You can equip up to two schools at once, which grants access to six total spells.
Each school has mastery ranks. Ranks increase when you use spells from that school during combat. Higher mastery provides a permanent passive bonus. It also typically:
- reduces MP costs for spells in that school
- raises critical hit rate for those spells
Magic Schools Available (v0.1.3α)
As of v0.1.3α, there are five magic schools in the game:
Black Magic

- Built around steady damage and damage over time, with the potential for high output when you manage auras well.
- Low MP costs make it a reliable school for sustained damage.
- Works smoothly with most other magic schools.
Dryad Magic
- A strange school that summons and controls plants to deal physical damage.
- MP costs are high, but it delivers strong burst damage.
- Can buff physical damage and includes emergency healing.
- Pairs well with black magic for consistency and aura management, and with sky magic to help offset the MP cost.
Lunar Magic
- Especially effective for fighting undead and controlling the pace of battle.
- Overall MP costs are high compared to raw damage output.
- Its power is stronger at night, and it gently fluctuates with the moon.
- Synergizes well with curse magic and sky magic.
Sky Magic
- Infuses aura that helps recharge the caster’s MP, making it a strong utility option.
- Damage output is solid.
- Rainy weather boosts certain spells.
- Can provide high burst damage when you handle auras correctly.
- Pairs well with holy magic for defense-focused play, or primal magic for offensive strategies.
Holy Magic
- A utility-focused magic type aimed at shutting down enemy spellcasters.
- The sanction aura can counter and dispel enemy spells.
- Starts with high burst damage, but its damage output drops off quickly.
- Works great with sky magic for aura management and with lunar magic to hinder and control enemies of many kinds.
Changelog
Serpent’s Spiral is bringing new life—well, kind of. You won’t be making babies directly. Instead, Iris will end up pregnant and giving birth to small creatures called spirit kin. Along with becoming a “mommy,” Iris can also grow a more commanding side as she gets to know a new character, Despoena, whom you can recruit as a maid-like helper.
Despoena is described as a big submissive, and you’ll need to reward and punish appropriately to keep her aligned with the rules.
Also included: new cosmetics, events, skits, skills, and more.
Bug Fixes
[Interface]
- Fixed an issue where the plugin/mod menu wasn’t showing file descriptions.
[Combat]
- Fixed a problem where defense interaction QTEs sometimes failed to block hotkey inputs as intended.
- Fixed a situation where, after deflecting using the keyboard (pressing Space or K), you could then click and deflect again.
- Fixed a chance of QTE animations getting stuck in certain circumstances.
[Misc.]
- Fixed an issue where the outfit list could disappear.
Content Updates
[Story]
- Added a new quest: [Holy Magic Arc: Serpent’s Spiral].
- To begin it, complete [Holy Magic Arc: A Warm Welcome] and the “rough night” event with Lloyd, then speak to Lloyd.
[Locations]
- During [Holy Magic Arc: Serpent’s Spiral], you unlock free travel to the port town of Richdon.
- This area will be expanded later, but there’s currently nothing special to do there yet.
[Art]

- Added new art, sprites, and CGs.
- Added CGs for multiple interactions with Despoena.
- Added CGs related to birth, breastfeeding, and bottle feeding spirit kin.
- Added new sprite parts for pregnancy—for Despoena—and for spirit kin.
[Activities]
- Added the pregnancy, birth, and spirit kin systems.
- You can learn the spell Matronalis, which lets you toggle Iris’s fertility.
- Once fertile, Iris can become pregnant through vaginal sex with males.
