AutoCAD Introduction

AutoCAD AutoCAD brings DWG viewing and editing to Android. Open CAD files, use layers, measurements, and annotations, work offline, and sync with cloud drives for easy team collaboration.

AutoCAD

AutoCAD is CAD-focused drawing software built for viewing and editing technical designs. It brings core PC-style editing tools to mobile, so you can open CAD files with ease and create or refine drawings using built-in capabilities like layer management, geometry tools, measurement, and annotations.

It also includes collaboration and sharing options, letting teams work together in real time. That helps reduce back-and-forth and makes it easier to produce more detailed drawings while incorporating ideas from other team members.

Key Features of AutoCAD

  • Advanced DWG viewing and editing
Access and update your drawings anytime using your smartphone or tablet.
  • Lightweight editing tools
Carry out essential edits, annotations, and basic design changes efficiently—ideal for on-site work.
  • Offline mode
Keep working even without internet access, then sync your updates when you’re back online.
  • Cloud connectivity
Works smoothly with Autodesk Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Box for easier file management and teamwork.
  • Annotation tools
Add notes, measurements, and detailed markups to communicate design intent clearly.
  • Layer controls
Adjust visibility and layer settings inside your DWG files to explore complex drawings more easily.
  • Precise measurement
Measure distances, angles, radii, and areas directly on the drawing for more accurate evaluations.

User Reviews

  • Great job overall. A couple of suggestions: 1) add a scale similar to GPS/map zoom behavior so accuracy improves when building interior spaces and intricate designs; 2) improve the Draw/Arc tool so you can drop a pin where you want the arc to extend. Right now it always anchors near the center, which makes certain shapes harder—I had to draw multiple lines to achieve the same result.

  • It worked well for what I needed. I used the trial to design a TV stand, and the result looked good. I could also print. I’m not sure what extra benefits the premium/ultimate versions add, but the trial covered my needs, so I didn’t purchase premium—I planned to test other apps first.

  • Easy to use on mobile. In emergencies, when you’re not on a system, it’s genuinely helpful. The main improvement needed is dimension sizing—current measurements look larger than expected, and there’s no option to scale them down. For now, this can be worked around by entering dimension values in multiples of 10 so they appear closer to normal.

  • Very helpful, especially when you’re working on a tight schedule. It’s also less bulky than traditional tools—you can keep it in your pocket. If ideas come instantly, you can act without hassle. I recommend it to anyone. I also hope Autodesk continues simplifying Revit and 3ds Max to complete the set. I’m using student licenses for Revit 2017 and Autodesk 2017, and later I plan to learn 3ds Max for my initial projects. Thanks, Autodesk!
