Maleena’s Corruption is a casual management game set in a broken world where the gods have fallen. You play as a hybrid orc-like figure who has taken in humans and made a life among them. Your main responsibility is to keep things running while many of the people who raised you fall into serious trouble.

To earn money to help your loved ones, you’ll run shops and keep customers satisfied. You must serve meals within a limited time window to gain tips. Some customers may be kind, but others are eager to exploit you. What you choose to do—whether you stay calm or snap—will influence what happens next in the story and how far “corruption” spreads. As your corruption level rises over time, you’ll also unlock more dramatic animation sequences.

The main loop alternates between exploration (both in the base and deeper areas) and dialogue-based encounters.

Exploration is point-and-click. As you move through locations, you’ll uncover story-critical items and learn more through environmental storytelling.

“Combat” Through Dialogue

There’s no traditional fight system. Instead, the so-called “combat” is psychological—played out through dialogue choices. Your answers can either strengthen or break your relationships with other characters.

Corruption, Agency, and Permanent Outcomes

Strategy comes from managing Maleena’s condition: decide when to resist the corruption’s urges and when to give in. Each decision permanently changes which narrative routes remain available.

Instead of standard survival mechanics, the game uses a sanity/humanity style system. Going too far into corruption may grant power, but it can also lock you out of certain story conclusions.

Story Setup

The world is built on a grim reality: the Gods have perished. Humanity still worships a goddess that hasn’t appeared in centuries, while her place is now filled by her Chosen Ones.

These chosen individuals carry humanity’s greatest weapons: men and women blessed by the Mother. Their special skill sets grant abilities that feel almost godlike—mysterious to most of the population. To ordinary people in the Queendom, they are seen as the Mother’s envoys, and they all serve the Queen and her empire.

In Fissure Divers: Maleena’s Corruption, you follow the daily struggles of Maleena, a mixed-race girl who is part Beastal—an intelligent, beast-like people—and part human. All her life she has been pushed aside, discriminated against, and mistreated. But the worst hardship is only beginning.

With her foster-father imprisoned, her foster-mother missing, and her foster-brother bedridden due to an unclassified condition, the pressure falls entirely on Maleena. Yet the fissure beneath the city seems tied to something far more sinister. The question is whether Maleena can endure without losing herself—find her place before the world collapses—or embrace the sweetness of corruption that waits within the fissure.
