Free Fire: 9th Anniversary
Free Fire: 9th Anniversary is an action shooter that kicks off a brand-new 9th-anniversary party with themed activities and events. To get your hands on plenty of rewards, simply finish the anniversary missions.
In the core gameplay, you’ll fight on the same battlefield alongside 49 other players. Pick your character wisely, move around within the safe zone, and keep gathering what you need—weapons, ammunition, and medical supplies. Coordinate with your squad using voice chat, then use smart tactics to take out opponents and be the last one standing.
The game also offers multiple ways to play, including Team Deathmatch, Battle Royale, Lone Wolf, and a Level Editor. With the editor, you can experiment with mods, create your own modes, and share them through in-game channels to draw in more players.
Gameplay Modes
Battle Royale
Battle Royale supports up to 52 players who drop onto an island without weapons. You’ll need to scavenge gear from buildings and fight until only one player remains. If you play this mode in Ranked, your performance can impact your ranking.

Choose from 6 maps:

- Bermuda
- Bermuda Remastered
- Kalahari
- Purgatory
- Alpine
- NeXTerra

You can play solo, duo, or as a squad.
Clash Squad
Clash Squad is a 4v4 mode (four players vs. four players). During the preparation phase, teams can buy weapons and items from the in-game shop, and then fight the opposing squad.

The match follows a best-of-7 format and can run for 4 to 7 rounds. A round ends when all members of one team are eliminated—by enemy fire or environmental hazards. As of 2022, Clash Squad maps are the same as those used in Battle Royale. You can play it in either Ranked or Casual mode.
Lone Wolf
Lone Wolf is a tougher take on Clash Squad with extra rules. It can be played as:
- 1v1, or
- 2v2 “duo”
In each round, both sides choose their equipment for the next two rounds. Matches use a best-of-5 structure. If both teams reach 4 wins each, the final round starts with both sides able to select any weapon they want. At the beginning of every round, all players automatically receive basic equipment such as a vest and helmet.
This mode takes place on its own map: Iron Dome.

Craftland
Craftland lets players build their own maps using an in-game builder. Once your map is ready, you can share it and invite others to play. The mode also supports script editing for deeper customization, giving creators more control to bring their ideas to life.
You can place buildings, gameplay elements, and decorations until you hit the maximum space limit. There are two base maps available for your creations.
Key Features
Fast 50-Player Battle Royale
Free Fire’s main mode puts 50 players into short, high-impact matches. You drop in by choosing a landing spot, secure weapons and armor, and reposition—often using vehicles—while staying inside the shrinking safe zone.
Airdrops tempt aggressive players with better loot, while airstrikes can force you to relocate quickly. Stealth tactics are useful too—crawling/prone behind grass or using rifts can help you set up ambushes or escape at the right moment. Most matches wrap up in about 10 minutes, so a slow start won’t drag on forever.
Clash Squad’s Round-Based 4v4
Clash Squad compresses combat into tight rounds that reward both economy planning and team coordination. Before each round, the buy menu lets your squad spend based on your prior results. Winning clean rounds builds cash and momentum, but one clutch moment can completely change the outcome.
Because arenas are smaller, fights happen more often and downtime is reduced—ideal for quick sessions when a full Battle Royale match feels too long.
Squad Play with In-Game Voice Chat
Squads in Free Fire come with voice chat, making callouts faster and easier to understand. Quick pings and short messages help you time pushes, coordinate revives, and plan vehicle rotations. Voice chat also supports utility coordination in Clash Squad and multi-angle strategies in Battle Royale.
Public lobbies can be noisy with open microphones, so muting or using quick chat can be a practical backup. Playing with friends feels more like a live party session.
Football-Themed Action
Fire Kickoff transforms Bermuda’s Factory into a football-style arena with faster fights and playful twists. If you get eliminated early, you may get a chance to return through a 1v1 revival duel, encouraging bolder plays.
You can also use interactive devices to temporarily turn into a football. Teammates can kick you to help you rush a position, escape danger, or cause disruption. The mode includes Football Blast and style animations like a red-card finisher or knockdown effects.
On the Event Page, you’ll find tasks, tokens, a shooting QTE mini-game, and themed rewards.

Strategies
Pick the Right Character
Free Fire features a large roster of characters, and each one comes with distinct abilities and playstyle options.
