Deemo Introduction
Deemo Join Deemo, a story music rhythm game where a girl with lost memories needs your help. Enjoy 200+ songs, tap and slide notes, avoid mine notes, chase perfect scores, and play offline.
Deemo
Deemo is a music rhythm game built around a heartfelt story. You play alongside a girl who has lost her memories, and together you travel through a surreal adventure. As you progress, you’ll unlock more than 200 songs across a wide range of styles.
In story stages, you’ll test your timing and reflexes by tapping and sliding notes in sync with the music. You must also stay alert for special “minefield” notes, aim for perfect accuracy, and slowly help the girl recover her memories as each level unfolds.
The game also includes an offline mode, so you can enjoy your favorite tracks even without an internet connection.
How Deemo Plays
At its core, Deemo is a score-based rhythm game. Each song is divided into three difficulty options: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Each difficulty uses the game’s Level rating to indicate how challenging it is.
The Level range originally covered 1–10. Later updates expanded it: the Level 11 song Myosotis was added in version 2.0, and the Level 12 song Marigold arrived in version 3.0. From then on, the range is 1–12.
Note Layout and Controls
- A black target line appears at the bottom of the screen.
- Notes travel toward that line from the background to the foreground.
- You must tap notes exactly when they reach the bottom line, matching the rhythm—similar to playing a piano.
- Black notes: tap each one individually.
- Yellow notes: slide across them as a connected chain.
- White-internal black notes: function like normal black notes from a gameplay standpoint (they represent non-piano sounds), but you still tap them.
- Mine notes: do not tap or slide when they reach the bottom line.
Scoring, Accuracy, and Results

Your score depends on how precisely you hit each note. A Charming hit is more accurate than a standard hit.
- Charming is split into:
- True Charming: hit exactly on the bottom line.
- Regular Charming: still a Charming-level hit, but not as exact as True Charming.
- Misses are also categorized into three types:
- White glow
- Red glow
- No glow

After each level, the game displays a results screen showing:
- The percentage of Charming hits
- Best Combo (your longest streak of successful hits)
- Overall accuracy (with 100% meaning every hit was Charming)

The screen may praise you for:
- Full Combo: you hit every note successfully
- All Charming: you achieved 100% accuracy
Energy System (Fail Condition)
Deemo can also evaluate your performance using an Energy meter. It starts at 100% at the beginning of a song.
- True Charming, Regular Charming, and Normal hits increase Energy.
- White-glow misses do not change Energy.
- Red and no-glow misses decrease Energy.
- If Energy reaches 0 at any point, the song fails.
- If Energy remains by the end, the song is cleared.

In Deemo Reborn, an achievement called “I Miss You” asks you to clear a song using all misses. To do this, you should aim for white-glow misses as much as possible, while avoiding any kind of successful hit.
Features of Deemo
Immersive Musical Gameplay
DEEMO is a captivating rhythm experience focused on piano-style music. You play by timing your taps as notes fall toward a target line, syncing each action to the melody. The interface is designed to feel like piano keys, combining strong visual clarity with satisfying audio feedback.
It offers three difficulty levels—easy, normal, and hard—so beginners can start comfortably while experienced players have room to improve. As difficulties rise, the game requires greater control, including multi-finger inputs and faster reactions, especially on songs with more complex, chord-like note patterns.
Large and Varied Song Library

DEEMO starts with a rich collection of well-composed piano tracks, each carrying its own tone and mood. Some of the toughest tracks and certain exclusive music packs may require additional purchases, but the base version already provides plenty of variety for long sessions.
Occasionally, weekly or seasonal updates add new free songs, giving returning players something new to try.
Tracks range from melancholic classical compositions to J-Pop-inspired numbers and more atmospheric pieces—making the soundtrack appealing to many musical preferences.
Art Style and Atmosphere
Visually, DEEMO stands out with hand-drawn illustrations and animation that create a quiet, slightly fairy-tale atmosphere. The main character, Deemo, is mysterious and resonates strongly with fans of darker fantasy themes. A subdued color palette and minimal presentation keep the focus on the story and the music as you play.
