Marooned Introduction

Marooned Drop into a barren world with nothing but your will to survive. Explore huge maps, set camps and traps, hunt for food and water, and master survival skills through quests.

Marooned

In Marooned, you’ll dive into intense survival adventures around the world. Each journey throws you into unfamiliar landscapes packed with hazards, traps, and living threats. You start with nothing—no food, no water, and no survival gear—so every step depends on exploration and smart choices.

To stay alive, you must roam across large maps, set up camps, build campfires, and locate resources you can use to craft hunting tools or create traps. As you progress, the game supports your learning with helpful survival guidance through the main storyline and additional hidden quests, teaching you how to handle danger and survive longer.

The game continues to evolve over time, with ongoing updates that add new maps and gameplay features to keep the experience fresh and exciting.

Gameplay

You’re dropped into a barren wasteland where there’s basically nothing to rely on. If you want to survive, you can’t just “wait things out.” Your main job is to complete the tasks the game assigns you, gather resources, and use them to keep yourself going.

A full survival loop covers everything from hunting and gathering to finding food and water—and even constructing shelter. You’ll also carry out practical hunting actions such as throwing rocks and setting traps to catch animals.

Marooned

In the upper-right corner, you can check Aed’s status, including water, energy, health, and blood. These values gradually drop as you survive, but you can restore them by sleeping.

Big areas, flexible camping: each region is wide and open. You can place a camp anywhere and build a campfire wherever it’s convenient. Set traps in spots you think animals will pass through. When it rains, you can use containers to collect water. At night, when visibility drops, a torch helps you light your way. And if you want to eat better, you can gather ingredients and cook meals—even deep in the jungle.

Maps also differ dramatically. From tropical rainforests to African grasslands, every biome has its own survival conditions, meaning your strategy needs to change with the environment.

Player Impressions

“Addictive once you get the hang of it.” I found it extremely engaging after I learned the hunting mechanics. One issue: after finishing the jungle map, I got a bit bored trying the island map, and I wondered if maps could be cheaper—or if some maps could be free. Still, the game is great, and I hope developers notice what’s making it feel like it could burn out.

“Best survival game for me.” This is my favorite game of all time, and I still play it. Updates have kept improving stability and overall quality. Some tasks can be tough—especially ones asking for rare or “delicious” meat. I don’t spend money on games, so I can’t do everything that requires purchase-based progress, but overall it’s the best survival experience for me. I’ve been playing since 2018, and I keep coming back. Great work, devs and the whole team.

“Challenging, but fun.” Killing dangerous bigger animals is hard for me, though it’s more manageable when I go after smaller, slower creatures. I usually just run and hope I don’t die. I’ve spent a few days and several hours enjoying it. I just wish bigger animals were easier to take down, and I’d also like the movement to feel faster—right now it can feel too slow, like you’re walking rather than running.

“Finally, a survival game I’ve been looking for.” I like that it’s a survival game without zombies. It feels fun and relaxing—simple in concept, but still complex enough to matter. I can play at my own pace while still managing protection, sleep, food, and water. I hope there will be more in-game options too, such as aiming in more directions than the current controls and being able to keep walking continuously without holding the finger on the screen.
