Allowed Moves in Solitaire.IO

  • Flip cards from the Stock to the Waste: You may flip either 1 or 3 cards from the Stock onto the Waste. You can choose the number in Options.
  • Move a card from the Waste to the Foundations: If the top Waste card can be placed on a Foundation, you can drag it there.
  • Move a card from the Waste to the Tableau: You can drag the top Waste card onto any Tableau pile where it fits.
  • Move a card from a Foundation back to the Tableau: If the top card of a Foundation can be moved back, you can do it here. This is not allowed in every Solitaire version, but Solitaire.IO includes this option.
  • Move one or more cards from one Tableau pile to another: You can move a face-up Tableau card (and any cards stacked with it) onto another Tableau pile if:
    • the destination pile’s top card is one rank higher,

    • and the colors are different.

For example, you can place a red 6 onto a black 7. If you have a sequence like red 6, black 5, red 4 face up on one Tableau pile, you can move the whole stack onto a Tableau pile with a black 7. If a Tableau pile is empty, you may only place a King there.

  • Flip a face-down card in the Tableau: After you move a face-up card away and the new top card becomes face down, you can tap that card to flip it face up.
  • Move a Tableau card to the Foundations: If you need to clear space, you can send cards to the Foundations in two ways:
    • Drag them to the Foundations, or
    • Double tap the card to move it automatically.

When all Tableau cards are face up and there are no more cards left in the Stock, the game will automatically transfer all Tableau cards to the Foundations, ensuring you’re guaranteed to win at that point.

Useful Tips for Solitaire.IO

  • Reveal face-down cards whenever possible: The more cards you uncover, the more move options you’ll have—and the easier it becomes to plan your next steps.
  • Before making moves, flip the first card from the Stock: Treat the first Stock card as part of your starting options. Sometimes that initial card helps you form a sequence that then reveals additional hidden cards.
  • Play Aces and 2s right away: Start building your Foundation piles as soon as you can. Move any available Aces to the Foundations, and once 2s become playable, place them too.
  • Focus on the larger Tableau columns first: Bigger columns contain more face-down cards that you need to uncover. Many of those cards are crucial for building and solving the game, so prioritize the columns with more hidden cards.
  • Use face-up Tableau cards before sending them to the Foundations: It may seem backwards, but you might need those cards to create moves and uncover face-down cards. You never need an Ace or 2 in the Tableau, but other ranks may be required to build sequences. For instance, if you reveal a 4 of Diamonds, make sure you’re not missing a better sequence or placement that could reveal another card.
  • Scan the Tableau before you commit to a move: At the start, quickly review the Tableau alongside the face-up card in your Waste pile and decide which moves are actually available.
