Clearing stages rewards you with plenty of loot, letting you keep upgrading your skills over time.

Combat isn’t the only focus—Spider-Man can also fire webs to climb walls and explore the city’s sights between battles. The game also introduces Venom, bringing a distinctive mechanic: after you defeat enemies, Venom can absorb health, adding a new twist to how fights play out.

Story of Ultimate Spider-Man

The plot centers on the tense clash between Peter Parker (Spider-Man) and Eddie Brock, a childhood friend who has transformed into the terrifying monster Venom. It’s a story driven by betrayal and the dangerous influence of the Symbiote.

Much of the narrative is rooted in tragedy and hidden family connections, beginning with a failed scientific experiment. Peter learns that both his father and Eddie Brock’s father once worked together to create a Symbiote-powered bionic suit, originally intended to cure diseases.

After Peter accidentally gets exposed to the Symbiote and removes it—because it causes him to lose control—the remaining Symbiote ends up in Eddie’s hands. Believing the Symbiote is his father’s legacy and feeling betrayed by Peter, Eddie becomes the rampaging monster Venom.

During the journey, you’ll switch between characters to experience similar events in very different ways. Another thread in Peter’s story involves him being pursued by S.H.I.E.L.D., led by Nick Fury, while he becomes tangled in a conspiracy involving the project’s backer, Bolivar Trask. Ultimately, Peter must face off against Eddie/Venom to stop the Symbiote threat for good.

The game uses touchscreen controls designed to feel natural as you perform Spider-Man’s signature moves. Swing between buildings, dash diagonally to slip past threats, and crawl along walls for that classic Spidey flow.

In fights, you can use combo attacks and web-based maneuvers to disable enemies. If you prefer, you can either take a direct approach or focus on slipping away, while searching stages for powerups, health boosts, and helpful web cartridges.

Move Faster

Swinging is already quicker than walking, but you can boost your speed even more. While you’re swinging, hold the web trigger and press the punch button to gain a small acceleration. If you time it correctly, the boost can carry over even after you release the web—helping you launch forward.

For best results, press the boost button right before you let go of the web, so your momentum carries into the next swing.

You can also extend your forward movement using the double jump feature. After boosting and releasing your web, press jump mid-air to roll forward and gain extra horizontal distance. When you begin to fall back toward the ground, press the web button again to start swinging and repeat the process.

No Skyscrapers? No Problem

Web-swinging typically requires a high anchor point, so it can be difficult when there aren’t any tall buildings around. Fortunately, the web zip can compensate for that problem.

To perform a web zip, press both shoulder buttons. Your web will attach to nearby targets and help you zip forward even in tighter spaces.
