What Users Say
-
I like BOOK WALKER because I can buy books in both English and Japanese. Overall, the app works smoothly. One thing to watch is that many release chapters eventually move to other services that use “all-you-can-read” models—especially BL and TL titles, which may be redirected after a few months.
-
The interface is easy to use. While the rest of the UI stays white, you can change the reading background color, and you can adjust the font size. However, you can’t change the font type or make it bold. A suggested improvement is letting users switch font styles. Update: dark mode has been added.
-
Sales and point offers are great for getting free volumes and chapters, and prices are comparable to—or sometimes better than—Amazon. If you report an issue with a title, it’s typically fixed within a few days, and they send a note thanking you. Release dates are shown up to three months ahead. One drawback is that not every manga publisher is available due to distribution rights. Also, the app may feel like it needs more storage space.
-
I enjoy the app and the service behind it. It was a bit unstable at first, but after a few updates it became better. I also appreciate being able to read manga and light novels legally and reread them anytime. There are plenty of free manga online, but I want to support the creators, including both authors and artists. I’d also like more bookshelf skins—and ideally, easier access.

FAQs

My purchased eBooks disappeared
A. This can happen for several reasons, such as the eBooks being stored in your [Archive].
To move archived eBooks back to [My Library]:

- Select “Settings”: “My Page”
- Choose “Archived Books” from the menu
- Select the eBooks you want to restore, then tap “Retrieve from Archive”
Restored eBooks will appear in “My Library”.
Using a web browser: Open the “Archived eBooks” page, select the eBooks you want to restore, then tap the “Retrieve from Archive” button at the bottom. The restored items will show up on the “Purchased eBooks” page.
What does “Erase All App Data” do?
A. This option deletes all downloaded eBook files from every device. Your purchased eBook ownership will remain on your account, and you won’t need to repurchase—your items will just return to an un-downloaded state.
Is the BOOK WALKER App slow?

A. Try these steps:
- Regenerate your eBook list so your device refreshes information and downloads the correct updates.
- Open [Settings]
- Tap [Book Date: Server management]
- Tap [Regenerating your book list]
- Check your library afterward. This may take a while depending on how many eBooks you have.
