To recover what’s been taken from him, players complete a variety of missions, face sudden crises, and uncover political plots. Combat relies on smart weapon use and positioning. You’ll fight with tools such as pistols, submachine guns, and sniper rifles, while also leveraging terrain around you to gain the upper hand.

Story of MindsEye

MindsEye

Redrock job offer

Jacob Diaz receives an offer from the Silva Corporation in the desert city of Redrock. Despite his new assignment, he’s haunted by memory gaps and terrifying flashbacks from a military operation that went wrong .

He reports to his superior, Kerry Rigby, and is immediately sent to deal with Silva’s automated robots—only to discover they’ve inexplicably gone rogue. Jacob’s real goal, however, is to find the missing scientist Hunter Morrison, the creator of the MindsEye implant Jacob received during the military. The implant has left Jacob with serious mental strain and worsening memory problems.

Jacob also stops a technology theft attempt by a mercenary crew called Red Sands. Their leader appears to have a MindsEye implant of their own and a bionic arm. During this conflict, Jacob rescues a hacker named Charlie, who agrees to help him investigate what’s really happening.

Silva’s bodyguard and the rocket dream

Jacob’s performance earns the attention of the eccentric CEO of Silva Corp, Marco Silva, who assigns Jacob as his personal bodyguard.

As Jacob protects Silva, he learns of a fierce rivalry between Silva and Redrock’s mayor, Shiva Vega. Vega becomes a major obstacle to Silva’s goal of launching rockets to support an interstellar colonization dream.

After Jacob rescues Silva from a kidnapping attempt by Red Sands, Vega’s group reveals they already knew Jacob was searching for answers about MindsEye and Morrison. They promise information—then Silva reactivates Jacob’s MindsEye system. Slowly, Jacob regains lost memories and improves his ability to control drones.

Jacob continues pushing deeper into the rogue robot threat, the conspiracy surrounding Silva, and Morrison’s disappearance. Eventually, he finds a clue about Morrison at an abandoned mine—but a flashback interrupts him. In his final mission from three years earlier, he explored mysterious cave ruins, lost control of his drone, and watched it kill his entire squad.

That same superior—Colonel Lamrie—then forced the implant to extract Jacob’s memories, which is what caused the memory loss in the first place.

Jacob later wakes up in Morrison’s hidden lab. Morrison tells him to place multiple listening devices around Redrock to communicate with beings known as the “Kin”.

Echo II and a betrayal

Once the safety of Silva’s Echo II rocket is secured, Silva orders Jacob to help him and Rigby confront Vega. Vega appears to be trying to steal and sell Silva’s code to the military—while secretly supporting Red Sands.

The meeting is interrupted, and Jacob is stunned to learn the true mastermind is Lamrie. Before the situation can escalate, the robots Vega was selling suddenly turn rogue and begin firing. Both Silva and Vega are shot.

Vega accuses Silva of trying to murder her, and Jacob rushes Silva to Morrison’s lab for safety. Silva admits he sold the MindsEye design to Lamrie, who intends to use the rest of the technology to complete his program. Silva then gives Jacob the Echo II launch key, asking him to make sure the rocket launches safely.

After Echo II launches, Silva reveals the original MindsEye chip—holding Jacob’s memories of the ruins—is located in Jacob’s home. Silva also destroyed every connection device that tried to reach it. Morrison activates his own setup, and soon robots and city technology begin malfunctioning everywhere.

Lamrie arrives and declares martial law, forcing Jacob, Silva, and Morrison to flee to Morrison’s lab.

The virus behind the chaos

Studying the rogue machines, Jacob and the others conclude that a virus has been released. It’s corrupting their programming and causing their behavior to spiral out of control.

Meanwhile, Lamrie captures Morrison and takes over Silva’s factory to build his own robot army. Jacob recovers a transponder required to shut down Silva Corp’s systems—but Charlie sacrifices herself to save him from one of Lamrie’s men.

Using the transponder, Jacob launches a second rocket and follows Morrison’s trail to an old archeological site. Inside, Jacob realizes the location is connected to the Kin ruins he explored three years earlier. He also witnesses Lamrie stealing a Kin Orb.

Jacob rescues Morrison, and Morrison explains the truth: Jacob’s contact with the Orb altered his DNA, making him part of the Kin—and also acting as the carrier for the virus that turns robots rogue. Morrison further reveals that the Kin are an alien race that exists in a higher dimension.
