Music Racer Introduction

Music Racer Music Racer is a rhythm-based racing game where you import music files and drive supercars through lane tracks synced to the beat. Switch lanes to hit notes, dodge hazards, and customize your car.

Music Racer

Music Racer

Music Racer is a high-energy racing game with a rhythm twist. To begin, you’ll need to import music files in different supported formats. Then you race through tracks that are generated around the beat. The songs and styles you choose influence how long each track becomes and what kinds of obstacles appear along the way—so every run can feel different.

Show off your driving skills by reacting quickly to hazards and switching lanes using the game’s controls. As you progress, you can also share your gameplay with friends to earn likes and comments.

Useful Tips

How the lane rhythm works: In Music Racer, you drive along a highway with three lanes. Notes appear in time with the music, and your main objective is to switch lanes to hit as many notes as possible.

Lane controls: Use Left & Right (or the Left Stick) to move between lanes and line up with the rhythm.

Game Modes

  • Standard: Includes obstacles; hitting them can reduce your score.
  • Zen: No obstacles. You can’t lose points in this mode.
  • Cinematic: Awards a smaller amount of points overall.
  • Hard: More challenging and includes obstacles that cost points when you hit them.

If you want a calmer experience, Zen is usually the go-to choice since it removes obstacle pressure entirely.

Improve Visibility

By default, the camera sits very close behind your car, which can make it hard to spot which lane upcoming notes belong to. To make planning easier, pause the game and use Right to increase Camera Distance up to 3.

Ways to Earn More Points

You can score more by either letting songs play while you idle or by playing actively. Since the game is enjoyable, it’s a good idea to play normally for a while first.

If your goal is to farm points on the same track, Mood Control is often the best option. Other solid choices include Infectious, Horizon, and Mons Sparagdus. If you idle, some players report that Infectious while staying on the middle lane is a fast way to rack up points—though it may take a bit longer than active play.

Unlocking Star Trophies

You can earn one star on any song by starting it and letting it finish without switching lanes at all. This was true for the first track, Wait for Love. When the song ends and you receive the one-star rating, the trophy will unlock.

Note: star trophies don’t stack. To collect all three ratings, you’ll need to play the song multiple times to earn each star level.

Player Comments

Music Racer

  • “Music Racer feels like rhythm racing in neon. The best part is that you can add your own music—then the track builds itself around what you’re playing. Sometimes it locks perfectly to the beat and everything feels smooth, and other times it gets a little chaotic. Either way, it’s fun because I’m basically driving through my own soundtrack.”

  • “It’s loud, flashy, and very 80s. There isn’t much depth, and I didn’t expect there to be. I just wanted a neon road and a good song in the background.”

  • “I can’t believe it took me so long to find this. When I’m down, I shut off—I can’t focus or think clearly, and games I used to enjoy stop feeling fun. This one helps a lot. The music, lights, and the whole vibe are just relaxed and chill, especially for people who can’t get things out of their heads.”

  • “I haven’t played for long, but it’s pretty rad. You can change the kind of track you drive on, and each one looks different and plays a little differently too. The car is customizable as well. The visuals are seriously great—bright colors moving with obstacles and shapes circling the road. It can be a lot at first, but you get used to it. It feels inspired by Audiosurf, but it builds from there.”
