Bloodstained: RotN is a side-scrolling action-adventure game. You play as an orphan who’s been cursed by an alchemist, setting out on a mission to save yourself—and everyone else. Throughout the castle, you’ll face a wide range of enemies and monsters. Fight them using a mix of weapons and spells, fine-tuning your combat style as you defeat foes, earn rewards, and upgrade your power and level. As you progress, you’ll unlock additional gameplay options and character outfits, helping you build a look that feels uniquely yours.

The game also includes voice acting from many well-known voice actors. Paired with fast, exciting battles, it makes the whole experience feel more immersive.

Useful Tips

Use Spells To Soften Up Enemies

Your first Conjure Shard, Cerulean Splash, fires a large water orb that bounces once before vanishing. Use it—and other spells—to weaken enemies before they get close. This makes it easier to avoid damage, so you can save your Potions for tougher encounters like bosses.

Use Spells Early and Often

Magic refills slowly over time, so don’t wait—use spells frequently. They’re among your most powerful options.

Farm Shards To Get an Advantage

If there’s a Shard you like, farm the enemy that drops it. Each additional Shard you obtain increases damage, range, or other spell properties, while keeping the same cost. It’s a strong way to gain more power over time.

Destroy Everything

Castlevania fans may already know this, but don’t hold back: smash lanterns and other objects to find money and Mana Roses. Mana Roses slightly recharge your MP.

Experiment To Find Hidden Techniques

From the start, choose the Kung-Fu Boots as your weapon. You’ll be able to use the hidden Flashing Air Kick right away.

To learn it:

• Perform a quarter-circle forward using directional input (D-pad or movement analog stick)
• Then press Attack
• The technique costs 15 MP, works with all Shoes, and adds extra damage and range

After learning it, the move is added to your Archives.

Backstep Is Your Best Friend

The backstep button makes Miriam dodge by quickly sliding a short distance backward. Use it often to avoid enemy attacks—and to cancel recovery animations on certain moves.

Backstep Grants an Extra Attack

Backstep can cancel the recovery animation on your attacks, allowing you to follow up with another attack sooner. This lets you keep your offense going while staying safe.
