Monument Valley 2 Introduction
Monument Valley 2 Monument Valley 2 brings a dreamlike puzzle adventure with shifting architecture and clever visual illusions. Help a mother and daughter solve geometry mysteries, build paths, and reach the finish in challenging levels.
Monument Valley 2
Monument Valley 2 is a puzzle game that continues the look and feel of the first installment, while delivering a totally new adventure. Expect many levels with different difficulty levels, where you’ll rely on both logic and skillful use of visual tricks, plus the way objects shift and move in the scene, to uncover solutions to each mystery. Compared with its predecessor, the game focuses on a more immersive, engaging puzzle experience. More levels are planned through ongoing updates, adding fresh content over time.
Gameplay
When Monument Valley 2 begins, you’re introduced to a dreamlike miniature world filled with unusual architectural designs. What makes this world special is that the structures can change and reposition each time you activate an organ. In this chapter, the game introduces a brand-new story called The Lost Forest.
In The Lost Forest, you follow the journey of a mother and daughter as they search for a power that can protect them. Along the way, they must overcome strange architectural structures, puzzles tied to geometry, and shifting designs of the environment. Sometimes they get separated—and later reunited—so you’ll need to move quickly to keep the journey on track. Will you help them reach their goal?
How to play

In many ways, the gameplay will feel familiar if you’ve played the original. A key message from the developers is simple: you don’t need to play Monument Valley 1 to enjoy Monument Valley 2.

The controls are straightforward. Since the core challenge is creating routes, your job is to figure out how to position the scene so the characters can reach the finish line.

Most of the environment is built from blocks. Your characters can walk only on flat surfaces and can climb certain stair segments. Because of that, the route to the destination is often packed with obstacles—this is where your puzzle-solving skills matter most.
- Look for organs you can activate.
- Move or adjust them to create new paths.
- Be careful—geometry can be misleading, so try different ideas.

Your characters won’t have trouble following the correct route once you’ve set it up.

The journey is filled with tricky puzzles, illusion-based pathways, and perspective challenges that test how well you can read the scene. As Ro leads the way, she shares knowledge and teaches the valley’s secrets, creating a story full of warmth and wonder. Each lever pull and each shift in viewpoint reveals more mysteries of sacred geometry.
A standalone adventure in an impossible world
As a sequel to the award-winning Monument Valley, Monument Valley 2 brings a new story and a completely fresh setting. Whether or not you’ve played the original, this game works as a standalone adventure that’s easy to jump into. Its environments are both beautiful and impossible, with design choices that push architectural imagination. Every level blends art and interaction in ways that challenge your mind while also feeling calming.
Puzzles with captivating design
The puzzles are built to encourage out-of-the-box thinking. You’ll manipulate architecture to form paths where none appear to exist at first. Rotate towers, slide platforms, and change perspectives to guide Ro and her child through each valley challenge. Solutions feel intuitive, but they’re also inventive—once you figure them out, the game delivers a quiet satisfaction from discovering how the surreal design works. Each completed puzzle helps you appreciate the craft behind the game.

It’s especially useful when you’re stuck on a specific room or puzzle and need guidance on what to do next. If you want broader advice, check out the Monument Valley 2 Tips, Cheats and Strategies guide. Below are a few common tips:
- When you leave a doorway, it’s usually blocked with a wooden door—this typically means you can’t go back through it.
- You almost never revisit an exited doorway, so keep moving forward and check for the next open door or available destination.
- There’s essentially no backtracking in Monument Valley 2—you’re always moving on. Often you’ll climb towers, but you rarely need to go up and then climb back down unless the world changes significantly.
