Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond Introduction
Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is a strategy card game for Android where you pick one of seven classes, craft a 40-card deck, and battle rivals to reduce the enemy leader to 0.
Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond

Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is a popular card strategy game where you pick one of seven classes, each with its own playstyle and strengths. Build your own deck around your chosen class, then battle other players. The key is to plan your plays: use different cards to set up synergies, boost your damage, and reduce your opponent’s defenses until they fall.
There are plenty of ways to progress faster, too. Daily logins reward you with free card packs, while events and match completion can earn you additional cards and extra prizes. You’ll also find a lively community where players can swap decks, discuss strategies, and improve their skills.
Gameplay
Matches in Worlds Beyond are played either 1 vs 1 or 1 player vs a bot. Both sides draw and play cards from their own deck.
Core goal
- Each player uses a Leader character.
- Your objective is to bring the enemy Leader’s defense down to 0.

Match setup
- At the start, both players draw 4 cards from a 40-card deck.
- Before the match begins, you build your deck during the deck-creation step.
- You choose one of the seven classes (often referred to as “-craft”) and include cards from that class, plus optional cards from the Neutral pool.
Evolutions and Super Evolutions (standardized mechanics)
Beyond the Super Evolution idea, the game also standardizes the Evolution system and updates a few keyword and rules elements compared to earlier versions.
- Evolution and Super Evolution are standardized to add +2 or +3, respectively, to both attack and defense.
- Super Evolution keeps Evolution’s ability to grant the Rush keyword, letting a follower attack the same turn it’s played.
- Unlike standard Evolution, a Super-Evolved follower cannot be destroyed during the player’s own turn.
- Super Evolution also creates a kind of backlash: if an opposing follower is destroyed by the Super-Evolved follower’s attack or effect, the enemy Leader takes 1 damage.
- Important: triggering Super Evolve counts as activating Evolve effects as well as Super Evolve effects.

The seven classes (“-crafts”)
- Forestcraft
- Swordcraft
- Runecraft
- Dragoncraft
- Havencraft
- Portalcraft
- Abysscraft
Except for Abysscraft, the other six are returning classes from Shadowverse. Abysscraft debuted in Shadowverse: Evolve (the real-life card game version) and blends the themes of Shadowcraft and Bloodcraft, reflecting their similarities.
Features
Strategic card battles
In terms of pacing and goals, the combat resembles card battlers like Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone. You try to reduce your opponent’s life/points to zero by attacking with creatures you play and by casting spells for direct damage. Since your opponent will also pressure you, the strongest approach is usually to build card synergies so your deck can create bigger advantages than theirs.
Single-player and PvP

Even though many players associate Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond mainly with online PvP, the game also includes an impressive Story Mode. It’s split into seven storylines, each starring a distinct character with their own personality and special abilities: Dreizehn, Lovesign, Marie Malisse, Kaori Yuihara, Galan, Diawl, and Esperanza.
As you progress through these story arcs, you’ll also get to experience the seven classes available in the game.
Super-Evolutions: the standout innovation
One of the biggest changes in Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is the introduction of Super Evolutions. Starting from the sixth turn of each battle, you can spend super evolution points to power up your cards dramatically.
- Super-Evolved cards gain a +3/+3 boost.
- They also remove all defeated enemies from the board.

Used well, Super Evolution can become a major part of your overall game plan.
Online card battles with strong presentation

The game supports fast, touchscreen-friendly battles, and its Story Mode includes excellent visuals plus full dubbing. It also delivers a wide variety of modes and a large collection of cards that you can collect, build, and evolve.
Useful Tips
Know when to use Evolutions and Super Evolutions
These mechanics are central to how matches are won, so timing matters. In each game you get two chances to Evolve and two chances to Super-Evolve.
- Evolving a follower improves its stats and may trigger class-specific effects.
- Super-Evolving significantly strengthens your board presence and can swing the match if you set it up at the right moment.
