Useful Tips for Better Matches
Preparation is important in any FPS. Even if you want to jump straight into combat, training (when available) is the smart first step—adjust settings, experiment, and get comfortable before you enter a match. Since Standoff 2 does not offer training options, your preparation mainly comes from tweaking your settings to fit your preferences.
You can access settings by tapping the gear icon in the lower-left area of the main screen. The settings menu includes 4 tabs. You don’t necessarily need to change anything right away, but it’s a good idea to review each section so you understand how it may affect your performance. The tabs are: game settings, video settings, controls, and sound settings. The second and third tabs usually contain the most important adjustments to focus on.
In game settings, the main option that can affect gameplay is switching to a picked-up weapon. By default, this is enabled. While it may feel helpful for beginners, it can hurt performance—especially during active firefights if you accidentally pick up a weapon you didn’t intend to use. Our recommendation is to turn this option off and only pick up weapons when you want to.
Video settings are generally fine when left on automatic, since the game typically adjusts based on your device’s expected performance. If you experience lag or discomfort during matches, try lowering the graphics quality using the available options. Standoff 2 supports high-quality visuals, but smoother gameplay often matters more during combat.
